Hi, I'm Kavi Branham. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me!
I believe that every person already possesses strengths, resilience, and inner resources that can become powerful catalysts for healing and growth. My role as a counselor isn't to "fix" people—it's to come alongside them, helping them better understand themselves, overcome obstacles, and move toward the life they want to live. I strive to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel safe, understood, and respected, because meaningful change begins with trust.
My Educational/Counseling Background:
I have been practicing counseling in Idaho since 2015 and have worked in the behavioral health field for more than 15 years. I earned my bachelor's degree in Child Development and Marriage & Family Studies from Brigham Young University–Idaho and my master's degree in Advanced Clinical Counseling from Northwest Nazarene University. While my education provided a strong foundation, I believe becoming an effective therapist requires lifelong learning, and I continue to pursue advanced training each year.
Counseling Approaches:
Over the course of my career, I've developed a passion for helping individuals heal from trauma. I am trained in EMDR through an EMDRIA-approved program and also utilize the Recent Traumatic Episode Protocol (R-TEP) and Group Traumatic Episode Protocol (G-TEP). EMDR is a well-researched, evidence-based approach that helps many individuals find lasting relief from the effects of trauma.
In addition to EMDR, I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy to tailor treatment to each person's unique needs. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families facing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, grief, stress, panic attacks, anger, relationship difficulties, parenting challenges, and life transitions.
Speaking/Training:
Beyond counseling, I enjoy teaching and speaking. For more than a decade, I've presented workshops, trainings, keynotes, and conference sessions throughout Idaho and across the United States. Whether I'm working with clients individually or speaking to larger audiences, my goal is the same: to create meaningful learning experiences that foster hope, connection, and lasting growth.
I am also a Certified Clinical Supervisor in the State of Idaho and provide clinical supervision for counselors working toward independent licensure.
